We use collected information strictly to operate and improve the service:

• Deliver and personalize the streaming experience (e.g., Continue Watching, recommendations)
• Sync your watchlist, progress, and preferences across devices when you're logged in
• Monitor site performance, detect errors, and improve reliability
• Detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and unauthorized automated access
• Send transactional emails such as password reset and account security alerts
• Comply with legal obligations including valid DMCA takedown requests

AnimeX uses cookies and browser local storage for the following purposes:

Your watch history, episode progress, and watchlist are central to features like Continue Watching and personalized suggestions.

• Without an account: all progress is stored only in your browser's local storage and is not synced.
• With an account: progress is saved server-side and synced across all your logged-in devices.
• You can clear your watch history at any time from account settings under "History & Data".
• Deleting your account permanently removes all associated history and preferences.

If you create an account, we store your email address, hashed password, username, and account activity (watchlist, comments, reports).

• Passwords are hashed with bcrypt and are never stored or transmitted in plain text.
• Your email is used only for transactional messages (password reset, security alerts) and is never sold.
• You can request a full export of your account data by contacting support@example.com.
• Account deletion is permanent — all data associated with your account is removed within 30 days.

AnimeX relies on third-party services to deliver content and monitor performance. These services may independently collect data subject to their own privacy policies:

• Video streaming CDN providers that serve episode content
• Analytics platforms for anonymized usage metrics
• Error tracking services to diagnose technical issues
• Email delivery providers for transactional messages

We do not control the data practices of third-party streaming providers. Content embedded from external servers is subject to those providers' terms. We recommend reviewing their privacy policies if you have concerns about data collected during video playback.

We implement industry-standard measures to protect your information:

• All traffic is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS.
• Passwords are hashed and salted with bcrypt before storage.
• Database access is restricted to authorized systems only.
• We conduct regular security reviews and dependency audits.

No system is completely immune to security threats. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to enable any available two-factor authentication features.
